As part of the Town’s Stormwater Management Master Plan (SMMP) development, Town of Cutler Bay procured and selected CGA to build a Stormwater Utility Structure Inventory database. The project was to begin by utilizing catch basin and outfall GIS shapefiles based on drainage map schematics provided by the County and eveolved into a full scale asset location project. The Town was in need of locations and quantity of structures present within their Town boundary. A custom built mobile GIS application was developed for the survey crews to collect the locations and data on each structure in one step making them more effective and efficient in the field. Survey crews then used survey grade equipment to validate and improve the accuracy of the GPS readings. CGA then coordinated with the Town to have each stormwater structure cleaned and repaired as necessary. Combined with the initial information provided by the Town, CGA used County property appraisers GIS database to identify catch basins and outfalls that are located within public right of ways as well as field verified and developed an overall map of the current catch basins and outfalls locations within the Town. As part of the deliverable CGA provided the Town with a spatially accurate GIS base file with all catch basin, outfalls and all associated attributes.
