The Indoor Air Quality Department conducted the LEED IEQ 3.2 sampling at the new Solid Waste Authority visitor center in West Palm Beach, Florida. This project will be the interactive and educational place for visitors to learn about the technologies utilized by the new facility currently under construction at the Solid Waste Authority landfill. The client was Hedrick Brothers Construction, who has utilized CGA’s services for several LEED projects over the past few years. This project was constructed under the LEED 3.2 standard, which is an important LEED certification credit for newly constructed or remodeled buildings. This certification’s intent is to reduce indoor air quality problems resulting from off-gassing of construction materials while promoting the comfort and well-being of its occupants. LEED IAQ 3.2 credit requires an IAQ Management Plan for the preoccupancy phase after construction is completed and immediately prior to occupancy. The visitor center had clean air and received its credit.
