Bay Harbor Islands, Florida – 98th Street Park

CGA was responsible for the design and permitting of a passive, walk-to neighborhood park on the East Island of Bay Harbor Islands.  The park’s components include a restroom facility, an interactive splash pad with water jets and sculptural features, two separate play equipment (one for toddlers and one for children 5-12) – each shaded and installed on poured-in-place rubberized surfacing – and a shelter pavilion.   read more »»

Bay Harbor Islands, Florida – 92nd Street Park

As a component of the Town-wide parks and open space master plan discussions moderated by CGA, an under-utilized parking lot was converted to a park space. The program for the park included an open green lawn area that could serve for multiple functions and a dedicated dog run area. Under a very tight and demanding schedule, CGA designed, permitted and provided construction administration services for the entirety of the park.  read more »»

Miami Gardens, Florida – Rolling Oaks Pedestrian Trail

Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. was contracted by the City of Miami Gardens to design a pedestrian trail within Rolling Oaks Park and to provide a safe route through the surrounding neighborhood to connect the new trail in the park to an existing walking trail in the Dolphin Center Park located three quarters of mile away.  read more »»

Weston, Florida – Peace Mound Park

The impetus for the project lied in addressing existing ADA accessibility issues and bringing the park up to the same high standards of other parks in the city. Environmental concerns were a major component to the work, design focused on the preservation of the existing tree canopy and the shaded, passive feeling of the park.  read more »»

Sunny Isles Beach, Florida – Newport Fishing Pier

The City had already completed several CIP projects with CGA, so when it came time to select the turn-key Project Managers for the Newport Fishing Pier demolition, design, permitting and reconstruction, CGA was again selected. The design and permitting of the pier required coordination with FDEP, DRER, USACE, USCG, MD Fire Department and the City’s building department.  read more »»

Weston, Florida – Library Park

In 2005, the City of Weston approached CGA with the idea to design and develop a passive park on six acres of land located adjacent to the new Weston Branch of the Broward County Library. The City received a small grant from the State of Florida, Division of Recreation and Parks to assist with the development of the park. CGA oversaw all aspects of the development of the park from the conceptual design and site details to the permitting, bidding and construction. read more »»

Weston, Florida – Emerald Lake Estates Park

In 2012 the City of Weston requested that CGA prepare several design options for expansion of the parking area at Emerald Estates Park along with other enhancements. These improvements were in response to the popularity of two existing picnic shelters and the lack of parking for them, as well as a lack of lighting in the park at night.  read more »»
