This is a 228-acre destination resort community located near West End on Grand Bahama Island. CGA’s senior staff served as the primary engineers for the project since its inception in 1996. Services performed include; planning, subdividing, platting, site and utilities design and construction support for the resort core, residential home sites, the marina, waterways and canals.
An initial site evaluation and the Environmental Impact Statement were completed for the project as well as coordination with local government and the Island’s utility providers.
Over the last few years, staff has coordinated bathymetric and side scan sonar studies to assist with the removal of shoals and debris that were washed into the project’s waterways from hurricanes. Additionally beach restoration work was designed and completed to address storm erosion from the storms. This included obtaining governmental approval to perform a large-scale beach enhancement project using sand from an offshore borrow site.
