Street and Pedestrian Scale Lighting – The CGA Team was hired to review existing lighting and make new lighting recommendations to fit the City of Miami Springs theme and provide pedestrian-scale light that enhances the safety of Miami Springs’ residents and business customers. The scope of services included performing a field investigation of the existing street lighting system, power distribution and control system, roadway classification and the code requirements, and providing recommendations for the specific illumination levels, poles and luminaries.
Wayfinding and Signage Program – The Miami Springs City Council authorized CGA to design a clear and safe set of signs with a consistent visual identity from beginning to end to enhance the visitor’s experience by easily directing them to places they would like to visit. The scope of services included an analysis of the current signs in the community directing visitors, meeting with community representatives and providing recommendations about the best type of a sign (by community/area or activity-shopping, cultural and civic, recreational), the number of signs required and sign locations.
Westward Drive Traffic Circulation and Parking Study – CGA conducted an arterial qualitative assessment analysis in the business district of Westward Drive. The review included data collection and analysis of access management, high conflict locations, and turning movements. Recommendations were made based upon consideration of all relevant corridor elements and are directed at improving access, circulation, travel time delays, stops, motorist safety, and fuel consumption. The study’s ultimate goal was to improve mobility on Westward Drive in order to improve access to Downtown Miami Springs.
