On Friday, December 2, CGA’s own Planning Administrator, Richard Cannone came before the Planning Board at the City of Naples, Florida, and discussed a list of “glitches” within the current city code. The glitches were compiled by input from city staff, community organizations and residents.
Some of the glitches discussed were that of commercial and residential design standards, calculation of garage area, residential design standards, and dock permitting, to name a few. One of the biggest concerns that echoed agreement among the board was the list of the inconsistency between the original Deltona Deed Restrictions and current Zoning Code.
The City Manager voiced concern to address these issues in a slow and methodical manner, to “make sure no one is left behind.” Richard Cannone agreed stating, “We’re not looking to make changes next month,” he said. “We’re looking at at least a year,” before implementation. The presentation concluded Phase One of the revision process; the total revision process is expected to be complete by November 2017.
