In 2014, the Town of Davie completed construction and commissioning of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant. In 2011, in preparation of the new plant coming online, the Town retained CGA to re-design and relocate Master Lift Station No. 1, to re-route sewage flows to the new plant.
Lift Station No. 1 is located at SW 6ist Avenue and 36th Court in east Davie, and its service area consists of residential and commercial areas located east of Davie Road and north of Griffin Road. Sixteen smaller lift stations contribute sanitary flow to the gravity sewer system, which then flows into Master Lift Station 1. Lift Station No. 1 subsequently discharges into a 16-inch force main that traverses south along 61st Avenue 11,600 linear feet to Lift Station No. 8.
Lift Station No. 1 is located on a parcel of land that is large enough to accommodate the construction of the new lift station while the old lift station was still in service. The new lift station is situated approximately 50 feet west of the previously-existing Lift Station No. 1. The design included complete engineering for the wet well, pumps, valve pit, valves, piping, conduit, control panel, electrical service, and site grading. The wet well was designed to use the Tremie concrete pour method of construction.
The project was also permitted through Broward County EPD and FDEP, and certified by CGA. The pumps were started up and the lift station was commissioned in March 2015.
