CGA prepared a concept plan, including an assessment of corridor land use, traffic, and economic conditions relative to the redevelopment opportunities along this main traffic artery and commercial corridor in the City.
The accompanying diagram depicts the key recommendations to redefine the character of Pasadena Avenue, and in so doing, to enhance its economic, functional and aesthetic well-being.
The Plan recognizes that formulating a coherent and viable redevelopment strategy for the corridor hinges on changing the character and functionality of the roadway itself from the six-lane divided arterial which serves primarily as a through-traffic conduit that is unattractive, compromises safety and limits the economic development potential of properties accessing the corridor.
The Concept Plan therefore recommends the roadway itself be redesigned as shown in the accompanying preferred roadway section below to improve traffic management, provide for improved bicycle and pedestrian safety as well as enhances landscaping which redesign is being pursued in a follow-up phase of work.
